CARGO ROAD WINES is located at 860 metres above sea level, on the sheltered northern slopes of Mount Canobolas, Orange in central western NSW. The vineyard was taken over by a trio from quite different backgrounds in 1997 (their story).

We produce a range of red and white wines, our signature varieties being a Gewurztraminer and Zinfandel.

A visit to Cargo Road Wines offers the cellar door for tastings on weekends, the possibility to stroll around the vineyard, have a picnic under eucalypt trees, look in the gallery and enjoy a meal or coffee in the cafe. Primitivo & Zinfandel Long Lunch

The Long Lunch will be held from 12noon to 8pm. Join me to discuss the origins and history of this ancient grape variety.

Taste Primitivo from Apuglia in Italy, Zinfandel from California and Palvac Marlie from Croatia (if I can get some) along with several Australian Zinfandels. Discuss the different styles and develop an understanding of this variety.

Be prepared to eat, drink, talk and enjoy.
